Waterskiing Athlete - Inducted 1994

Jaret Llewellyn, from Innisfail Alberta,  was the Junior Worlds Overall Water-skiing Champion at 14 years old. He is the holder of 14 Canadian records and 20 national titles. He rose to the top of Canada's water skiing pack of 1000 competitors to become Canada's top water skier from 1991 to 1994 and was a member of the Canadian Water-skiing Team that won the World Championship in 1991 and 1993. Jaret Llewellyn set a water ski jumping world record of 207 feet in 1992. He was the Overall Champion at the world's most prestigious invitational tournament, the United States Masters in 1992 and 1993.

After Induction

Jaret has been water skiing competitively for more than 30 years. He has nine World Championship titles and 117 professional wins. He is an 11-time World record holder; which included his World Ski Fly record at 299 feet in 2000 (the record was broken in 2015). During the 2001 season in the Ski Fly, Jump, Tricks, and Overall disciplines, he won a total of fourteen championships. Jaret had knee surgery in 2010 and returned to competitive skiing in 2011 where he won the silver Overall medal at the World Championships. Jaret won two silver medals at the 2015 Toronto Pan Am Games in overall and tricks for a total of 10 Pan American medals during his career – including eight gold medals. He was Canada’s flag bearer at the 2003 Pan American Games. Jaret suffered a broken femur November 15, 2015 at the IWWF championships in Mexico – and still came away with a bronze medal in overall.
