Harold “Hal” Richard
Multisport Athlete - Inducted 1987
Harold "Hal" Richard has had a lifetime interest in sports, both as an athlete and as a builder. He has competed in basketball, football, hockey, track and field, tennis, squash, handball, lacrosse, curling, and golf. During his university years, he was a captain of the University of Alberta Rugby Team which won the cherished Hardy Cup in a victory over the University of British Columbia. He played football for the Edmonton Eskimos from 1928 to 1930 when there were just four teams including Edmonton, Calgary, Lethbridge, and the University of Alberta. "Hal" Richard has been competing in Canadian Men's Senior Golf Championships since 1970. Many years have been spent coaching and serving on sports committees.
