Ross Stanley Sheppard

Ross Sheppard set the Alberta hop, step, and jump record in 1914 and in 1924 he set the Canadian standing high jump record which was held for over forty-four years. He represented Canada at the 1924 Olympic Games in Paris in the hop, step, and jump. Ross Sheppard also played basketball, baseball and tennis. He was President of the Amateur Athletic Union of Canada, Alberta Branch, in 1924. The Ross Sheppard Composite High School in Edmonton was named in his honour.
