Curling Athlete - Inducted 1993
Jim Shields gained notoriety as a fine shot-maker and master curling strategist. Competing throughout Alberta in the 1960s, he won four Southern Alberta; three Provincial; and, one Canadian Championship - culminating in a World Championship in 1968. He curled a perfect game at the 1960 Brier. Many curlers have benefited from his willingness to share his curling expertise. For his generosity, Jim Shields was given an honorary lifetime membership to the Calgary Curling Club.
