Grant Pollock

Grant was born and raised in Toronto. In Ontario, he first worked in radio, and then in 1979 he began his TV career. He moved west to Calgary in 1983 to join the sports staff at Channel 2 & 7 (now Global Calgary). Since 1979, Grant Pollock has worked as a sports reporter, anchor, producer, and sports director. A true champion of sport, Grant has fought tenaciously to bring attention and prominence to all levels of sport and to cover them with fairness, balance, honesty, respect, and accuracy. He has covered the entire spectrum of amateur, community, high school, collegiate, university, Olympic, special needs, and professional sports with a genuine passion and unyielding interest.
Grant continues to bring his vision and passion to local sports coverage and amateur sport in the city of Calgary even as the industry changes and sports coverage evolves. He has remained focused on meeting the needs of athletes and organizers behind amateur sports and he enjoys sharing their stories. Grant Pollock has always shown commitment and dedication through his work, volunteer efforts, and community service to the benefit of Alberta’s sportsmen and sport.
After Induction
Grant Pollock retired as a Sports Anchor May 29, 2015.
He is well known in Calgary for his broadcasting duties as well as for his work with sports charities and volunteering for several other causes.
