Frank Ryan

During his seventeen year writing career, Frank Ryan has been involved with most amateur sports. He started his career as a sports writer with the Grande Prairie Herald-Tribune. From there he went to the Edmonton Journal, The Peace River Block News, CJDC, The Prince George Citizen and back to the Block News. In 1975 Frank Ryan was selected as the winner of the Earl Johnson Memorial Award as Dawson Creek's Sportsman of the Year. Since moving to Red Deer in October 1976, he has been the official scorekeeper for the Red Deer Yamaha's of the Western Major Fastball League, statistician for the Red Deer Rustlers, the senior men's basketball league, and the Red Deer Commercial Men's Fastball League and a director with the Lion’s Speed Skating Club.
