Syd Hall

Hockey Builder - Inducted 1984

Syd Hall began his work as a coach, manager, referee, and administrator of hockey in Lethbridge and continued this work for more than 35 years. In 1947, he coached his first midget team to the provincial finals. In 1969, his Sugar Kings were Memorial Cup finalists. Syd Hall was a founder of the Lethbridge Minor Hockey Association, Alberta Junior Hockey League, and the Lethbridge Sugar Kings. He has held several executive positions with the Lethbridge Minor Hockey, Southern Alberta Hockey, and Alberta Amateur Hockey Associations.

After Induction

Syd has been active in refereeing Oldtimers Hockey in Alberta, BC, NWT, United States and Europe.  He was made a member of the Playmakers Senior 70 and Over Club.

Syd Hall passed away on December 27, 2021
