Wayne Bowes & Bob Daku Racquetball Team
Raquetball Team - Inducted 1993
Wayne Bowes and Bob Daku began playing racquetball together in 1969 after meeting at the Lethbridge YMCA. Their combination of skills, strategies, and conditioning techniques lead them along the road to success. They dominated the Canadian Open Men's Doubles in racquetball from 1974 to 1982 winning nine consecutive national titles. Besides their national titles, this team won numerous Alberta crowns and competed at the 1974 World Amateur Racquetball Championships.
With two more titles added to their name in 1984 and 1985, they retired from competitive racquetball with 11 of 13 national titles. Wayne Bowes and Bob Daku were inducted into the Lethbridge Sports Hall of Fame in 1986.
After Induction
Wayne and Bob were inducted into the Lethbridge Sports Hall of Fame in 1989.
Wayne Bowes was inducted into the Racquetball Edmonton Hall of Fame in 2008.
