Gerald Williams was involved with amateur boxing in Alberta since 1947, as a coach, trainer, manager, referee, and administrator. He judged amateur boxing matches for over fifteen years. He worked at most of the major tournaments held in Alberta and also judged at the Canadian Championships. Gerald Williams was Chairman of the Canadian Amateur Boxing Association and a member of the Branch Boxing Committee for many years. He was Vice President for three years and Treasurer for two years of the Canadian Association of Health, Physical Education and Recreation, Edmonton Branch. He served as Vice President and a President of the Amateur Athletic Union of Canada, Alberta Branch. Gerald Williams was also a Director of the Alberta Sport Council.
