Synchronized Swimming Athlete - Inducted 1991

Michelle Cameron began synchro swimming in 1975 as a junior and has won eight national titles in her 13 years with the Calgary Aquabelles. After the 1984 Olympics, she teamed with Carolyn Waldo to form one of the finest duet teams the World has ever seen. After one year of competing together, they won the gold medal at the 1985 Federation Internationale De Natation Amateur World Cup. They won gold medals at the 1986 World Aquatic Championships; 1986 Commonwealth Games; 1987 Pan Pacific Championships; 1987 Federation Internationale De Natation Amateur World Cup and the 1988 Summer Olympics. She was a member of the first-place Canadian Synchronized Swimming Team at the 1986 World Aquatic Championships.

Michelle Cameron has received many honours including the 1986 Sport Excellence Award, the 1987 World Champion Award, and a Certificate of Recognition from the Secretary of State of Canada in 1989.
