Michelle Conn

Michelle Conn was a member of the Canadian National Women's Field Hockey Team from 1984 to 1992 - playing 93 games, and she was a National Carded Athlete from 1983 to 1992. She was Co-Captain of the team from 1989 to 1992.
Michelle Conn was a starting member of the Canadian National Women’s Field Hockey Team at the1988 and 1992 Olympic Games, and an alternate on the 1984 Canadian Olympic Team. She played in two Pan American Games, winning silver in 1991; and two World Cups, winning bronze in 1986. Michelle Conn played with the University of Calgary Dinosaurs for five years and was a CIAU All-Canadian Athlete. Later, as a competitive athlete, she passed on her skills to the Dinosaurs team for three years as an assistant coach and also worked with the Alberta under-16 Women's Field Hockey Team.
Michelle Conn was regarded as one of the best left-wings and top goal scorers in Canadian women's field hockey. Michelle Conn has received numerous awards including the Alberta Achievement Award in 1987 and 1988. In Jr. and Sr. High, Michelle was an achiever in basketball, volleyball, and field hockey, and at a community level was very skilled as a top scorer in soccer and ice hockey. As an athlete, Michelle Conn continues to excel and is a positive role model for young women in sports.
After Induction
Michelle began competing in marathons and triathlons, then golf. She was the 2005 Women’s Club Champion at Riverbend Golf Course in Red Deer.
For her sporting accomplishments with the Calgary Dinos women’s field hockey team from 1981 to 1985, Michelle was inducted into the University of Calgary Hall of Fame in 2006.
