June Causgrove Cox competed in track & field, basketball and softball. In track & field, she trained in both aspects, showing particular expertise in the 80m hurdles, discus and softball throw. She held Provincial and Dominion records in both softball throw and discus. June Cox played basketball for the Grad Cubs, Army and Navy Starlets and the University of Alberta Pandas with whom she was captain when they won the 1946 Western Canadian Intercollegiate Athletic Association Championship. She played softball with the Army and Navy Pats when they won the 1941 Provincial Championship. She was named All-Star centre-fielder when the team disbanded in 1945 after 17 years of competition.
