Marjorie Collinge Eustace

Marjorie Collinge Eustace started her career in 1922 when she entered and won the Provincial Tennis Tournament.  She went on to win 49 City of Calgary Open Championships, 21 Alberta Championships, and 4 Western Canadian Championships. Marjorie Eustace dominated tennis in Alberta until her retirement in 1958.

Since Induction Update

Marjorie Eustace continued her association with the Calgary Tennis club and as often asked to present club trophies. Upon her death in 1989, her scrapbook of tennis memorabilia with pictures and newspaper articles from around 1920 to the 1980’s, which represents a valuable history of tennis in Alberta, was donated to the Calgary Tennis Club.


Career Highlights:

· Nine times Alberta Ladies Singles Champion

· 16 times Calgary Ladies’ champion.

· She was the first tennis player to be admitted to the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame.
