Lisa Miller began her career in the broadcast industry in 1978 with CFRN television. Her first assignment was to cover the Commonwealth Games in Edmonton. Her interest in a broadcasting career stared when she was attending the University of Alberta and covering the Bears and Pandas games for the student radio station. She has covered the World University Games in Edmonton in 1983, produced a two hour documentary on Olympic athletes from northern Alberta in 1988, and co-produced a one-hour special in 1990 entitled 'Looking Back on the Decade of Champions in Edmonton'.

The opportunity to report the outstanding accomplishments of athletes such as four time World Men's Figure Skating Champion Kurt Browning, plus former World Curling Champion Pat Ryan, are among the highlights Lisa Miller lists in her career. Lisa Miller is an Edmonton native respected for her efforts and dedication towards the coverage of amateur and professional sports in the city and area. She has served as president of the Edmonton Sports Reporters Association for the last four years.
