Frank Morris

Football Athlete / Builder, Edmonton

Inducted in 1994

Frank Morris surpasses all Canadian Football League players and administrators with 13 Grey Cup victories. He was traded from the Toronto Argonauts to the Edmonton Eskimos in 1950 and was co-captain of the team in 1953 and 1954. He helped track a path to Edmonton's first Grey Cup victory in 1954 and again, in 1955 and 1956. Frank Morris hung up his jersey in 1958, but in 1973 he put his football talents to work for the Eskimo organization. As Director of Player Development, he repeatedly proved his expertise in selecting and managing first rate athletes--an effort that contributed to seven Edmonton Grey Cups from 1975 to 1987. Frank Morris was inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame in 1983 and his name was chiseled into the Edmonton Eskimo Wall of Honour in 1984.
