Mary Ann Reeves
Synchronized Swimming - Inducted 1993
Mary Ann Reeves has been involved in both the Alberta and Canadian synchro swimming programs since 1966 when she founded the Calgary Aquabelles Synchronized Swimming Club. As the Head Coach of the Aquabelles from 1966 to 1976, and National Coach from 1971 to 1975, she was the first to enter both junior and senior winning teams at the Nationals; the first to qualify two teams from one club for senior-level Canadian Championships; and, the first to coach a nationally undefeated junior team. Under her coaching, the Senior Aquabelles won silver at both the 1971 Pan American Games and the 1973 Aquatic World Championships. Mary Ann Reeves retired from coaching and began with Synchro Canada as the National Team and Technical Director in 1976.
