Jackie Rae started her curling journey on a local level in St. Albert and her passion for the game has taken her all the way to the Olympic Winter games in Pyeong Chang, South Korea. She has been instrumental in promoting the sport of curling through her competitiveness on the ice, volunteerism off the ice and her on-going promotion of the sport through social media and her professional broadcasting position. She has been a leader in her field and has played major roles in Provincial, National and World Championships from the 2005 Time Hortons Brier, 2007 Ford Worlds Men’s Curling Championships, 2009 Tim Hortons Roar of the Rings and the 2017 Alberta Provincial Ladies Scott Tournament of Hearts. In addition to taking a leaderships role in these major events she continually volunteers in many of the local curling events throughout the Edmonton area. Some of her awards and recognition include Past Chair of the Capital Care Foundation, 2007 Global Woman of Vision Award and she was also inducted in both the Alberta and the Canadian Country Hall of Fame. Jackie’s consistent dedication to the advancement of curling and commitment to develop, grow and promote the sport of curling is unrelenting and continues to this day.
